Celebrating Pride

It’s Pride Month—a time to honour and celebrate the journeys of Queer, Transgender, Lesbian, Gay, Non-Binary, and 2Spirit individuals.

Did you know that Pride Month traces back to the historic Stonewall Riots in June 1969? These riots led to greater rights and recognition for the LGBTQIA+ community. Over the years, the struggles of previous generations have paved the way for the vibrant celebrations we enjoy today. London, a fantastic city, embraced same-sex marriage in 2013, but conversion therapy remains an unresolved issue. The term LGBTQIA+ encompasses diverse forms of self-expression and sexual identity. Here at Curiocity, we cherish all families and walks of life. Families come in various shapes and sizes, and we believe in spreading the joy of Pride to help children understand the world better. By nurturing empathy and open-mindedness, we are shaping future individuals who will embrace their true selves with confidence. We promote inclusivity regardless of religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. The early years of a child’s life are crucial as they discover their place in the world and build their support system. Celebrating Pride with our little ones fosters compassion, understanding, and self-expression, creating an empathetic learning environment. Diversity enriches our learning space with joy and valuable lessons. Celebrating Pride enables children from same-sex families to express their family pride and appreciate the love their parents share. Encountering different family structures and celebrating the love that unites them cultivates a positive and prideful atmosphere.

Our aim is to ensure that every child feels safe and acknowledged, embracing the idea that love knows no boundaries and families come in many forms. Love always prevails!
