What We’re Looking For:

  • A warm and caring personality that makes every child feel special and valued

  • A great sense of humour and the ability to embrace the unpredictable nature of working with children

  • The confidence to sing (in or out of tune) and distribute warm hugs as required

  • Strong observational skills and the ability to quickly count numerous moving small people

  • The ability to remember children’s names, their pets, and their favourite toys

  • A high level of patience and understanding when faced with the endless curiosity of children

  • A willingness to accept the reality of leaving work with unknown substances on your clothing

  • Most importantly, a genuine passion for early years education and making a difference in children’s lives

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care and education for children aged 0-5

  • Plan and implement engaging activities that support children’s learning and development

  • Work in partnership with parents, carers, and colleagues to create a nurturing environment

  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and health & safety regulations

  • Track children’s progress and plan their next developmental steps

  • Promote diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities within the setting

Requirements:

  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare (or above)

  • Experience in a nursery or early years setting preferred (minimum 1 year)

  • Ability to commute to North London, N7 8HY or relocate before starting

What Will You Do?

As a Room Leader, you’ll be an ambassador for our values and play a key role in leading your team and shaping a positive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Team Leadership: Build and support an outstanding team, fostering strong relationships across the nursery. Lead by example and drive professional development for your team.

  • Planning & Teaching: Work collaboratively to create and implement engaging activities and lessons that align with children’s learning and development goals.

  • Assessment & Development: Ensure all educators take ownership of observing and assessing their key children, sharing insights, and setting learning targets.

  • Key Person Role: Nurture strong bonds with a small group of children, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and supported.

  • Curriculum Delivery: Stay up to date with best practices, delivering a creative and stimulating learning experience for all children.

  • Building Relationships: Foster open communication with parents, children, and colleagues to create a warm, inclusive, and engaging environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Level 3 (or above) qualification in Childcare (Essential)

  • Previous Room Leader or Management experience (Preferred)

  • Experience or knowledge of different early years methodologies (Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, Curiosity Approach) is an advantage but not essential.

  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for child development and team growth.

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Teach & Inspire: Lead engaging activities and guide children’s development through hands-on learning

What You Need

  • Relevant Level 3 (or above) qualification in childcare
  • Previous Room Leader/Management experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in childcare (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, or Curiosity Approach (preferred, but not essential)
  • Ability to reliably commute to Roman Way, London, N7 8HY
